President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday, March 24, 2014 admitted that there had been irregularity in the accounting system of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Speaking in Amsterdam, Netherlands where he engaged the Nigerian community in an interactive session, Jonathan confirmed $10 billion had not been reconciled by the NNPC which was discovered by Ministry of Finance, saying this culminated into the ordering of a forensic audit of the corporation.
The President however assured that his administration would resolve problems and challenges that had led many to believe that the country is not abreast of the exact amount of oil pumped into the market on a daily.
