After so many years of childlessness, a 40-year old UK based woman, Mrs Adeline Kweku Keh,conceived only to die shortly after childbirth because she refused blood transfusion for some religious reasons.
The woman was said to be an ardent member of Jehovah’s Witness and was diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome, yet she maintained her stance against the blood transfusion.
Speaking exclusively with London Evening Standard on Monday, November 10, 2014, her bereaved husband, Kwaku Keh said, “My wife and I were best friends. We had been trying to have a baby for some time but it had not happened for us even with the help of IVF.
“Each time I went to pick her up from the hospital, I was told that she could not come home. Eventually my wife lost her fight and passed away and we never got to come home as a family.”
