LOS ANGELES, USA – In a candid video posted on TikTok this week, Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has shared new details about the health crisis that led to his hospitalisation in April 2023.
Foxx, who was in Atlanta filming the Netflix movie “Back in Action,” has remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the incident until now.
In the video, recorded on June 29, 2024 in Phoenix, Foxx recounted to an unidentified group of people the events leading up to his hospitalisation.
“I had a bad headache on April 11, 2023,” he said. He recalled asking a friend for an Advil, after which he experienced a blackout. “I was gone for 20 days,” he stated, emphasizing that he had no memory of the period.
Foxx further explained that his sister and daughter had taken him to a doctor, who administered a cortisone shot.
Another doctor suggested there was something serious happening, but Foxx opted not to disclose the specific diagnosis. “I won’t say it on camera,” he noted, pointing to his head during the footage.
The actor, known for his private nature, had disappeared from the public eye following what his daughter, Corinne Foxx, described as a “medical complication” in a social media post at the time.
In July 2023, Foxx addressed his fans via Instagram, explaining his decision to keep details of his condition private.
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through,” he said, adding that he felt like he had gone “to hell and back.”
Foxx provided another update in August 2023, expressing his gratitude for the support he received during his recovery.
“You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself…” he wrote on his verified social media account. “It’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light.” He also conveyed his appreciation for the well-wishes and prayers from fans and friends.
Despite his health challenges, Foxx’s commitment to his work remains strong.
According to IMDb, “Back in Action” is currently in post-production, signaling a hopeful return to the screen for the beloved actor.
