The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has strongly criticizes the pre-election violence noticed in parts of the country, especially in Jos and Rivers State, where property belonging to both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) were destroyed.
Abba spoke via a statement signed by the Spokesman for the Nigerian Police Force, Emmanuel Ojukwu and dated Monday, January 12, 2015 describing the violence as an ugly development, pledging to bring the masterminds of the “unacceptable and heinous acts’’ to book.
The Inspector General also used the opportunity to remind politicians and their supporters that politics is meant to empower some for the benefit of the masses, urging them to play the game with decorum without religious and ethnic rancour.
