The exercise had been earlier scheduled to start on Friday, January 9, 2015.

“The issuance of PVC to registered voters and the CVR will take place in Maiduguri and Jere LGA considered relatively safe now. PVC is like an ATM card that will not allow an individuals to vote more than once in an election and the CVR is for individuals who have attained voter age or those whose names were missing in the voters register,” Sa’ad said.

Sa’ad further explained that INEC was working with security agents so as to conduct the exercise in local governments like Biu and Shani which were relatively safe.
