Rivers State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barr Nyesom Wike has been officially declared winner of Saturday, April 11, 2015 governorship polls.
Wike had about 87.77 percent of the total votes polling a total of 1,029,102 in defeat of his opponent of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr Dakuku Peterside who had 124,896 votes amounting to 10.65 percent.
The Returning Officer, Prof Faraday Oruwense announced the results at the Rivers state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Port Harcourt in the early hours of Monday, April 13, 2015.
Prince Tonye Princewill of the Labour Party, LP, emerged the third candidate with a total of 10,142.
