Gunmen have killed two people at the Etekwuru Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers came in a convoy of vehicles and destroyed properties.
Many villagers were injured in the attack which occurred at about 4 am on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
Eze Kenneth Okereke, the traditional ruler, who confirmed the attack, called on security agents to save his subjects.
It came two days after some hoodlums and military men clashed in the community, during which two soldiers were killed.
Michael Abattam, the Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
“It is true. We have commenced investigation to ascertain the cause of the attack,” he said.
