Southern Kaduna: Traditional Ruler, Who Is Brother To Bishop Kukah, Kidnapped

Yohanna Sidi Kukah, the chief of Ikulu Kingdom in Southern Kaduna, who is also the brother of Catholic Bishop Matthew Kukah, has been kidnapped.

The traditional ruler was kidnapped alongside one of his security guards in the evening of Tuesday, January 2, 2017 from his residence in Anchuna, Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State.

According to Elanza News, source said Kukah’s house was surrounded by gunmen who shot sporadically into the air and take away the traditional ruler.

“The gunmen surrounded the house of the traditional ruler and started shooting. They moved into his residence and take him away,” a security source in Zangon Kataf LGA told The Trent.

He said they have contacted the sold administrator of Zangon Kataf LGA who also confirmed the incident.

As at the time of filing this report, the where about of the traditional ruler is still unknown.

Both the police and the Kaduna State government are yet to make an official statement on the matter.
The chief of Ikulu is a brother to the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Mathew Hassan Kukah.
