Must read

The National Association of Idoma Students (NAIS) on Friday, January 16, 2015 threw the full weight of their support behind President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the presidential polls of Saturday, February 14, 2015.

Asides President Jonathan, the students also hailed the leadership of Senate President David Mark for their relentless pursuit of exemplary leadership and sustenance of democracy.

Speaking via a statement signed by NAIS’ President, Igoche Egwa, Secretary, Tony Onazi and
Director of Socials, Oche Joseph Udeh, the association reiterated their readiness to vote for President Jonathan.

The statement reads in part: “In view of our commitment to nation building and sustenance of democracy, the National Association of Idoma Students want to state as follows:

“One, that Idoma students shall vote and defend their votes for President Goodluck Jonathan at the forthcoming polls; two, that Senator David Mark remains the best representative the Idoma nation
can produce and urge Idoma students to come out en masse to vote and defend their votes.

“Again, that the National Association of Idoma Students shall declare any individual who contends with Sen Mark a personae non-granta bearing in mind that the choice of a senator who will return as
president of the senate surpasses any form of personal or group interest who will jeopardise the chances of the Idoma nation.”

In conclusion, the association sent their condolences to the residents of terror-ravaged North East.

“We sympathise with our brethren from the north eastern part of the country who have been affected in one way or the other by the insurgency and salute the courage of the Nigeria armed forces which have not relented in battle to sustain our sovereignty and reclaim our territory from the insurgents,” the statement added.
