Constituency projects worth N4.5 billion executed in some local governments across three senatorial districts in Yobe State are being tracked by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.
Laban Emmanuel, the ICPC’s team leader, made this known in an interview with journalists on Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Damaturu, the state capital, noting that the exercise, which is phase three, tracks 118 projects and has since commenced on August 31 and would be concluded on September 12, 2021.
“Projects to be monitored were scattered across 11 local government areas of Fika, Potiskum, Gashua, Jakusko, Nguru, Fune, Yunusari, Yusufari, Gujba, Bursari, and Karasuwa”, he said.
According to Emmanuel, the team of trackers comprised ICPC officials, quantity surveyors, journalists, and civil society organisations.
“The same exercise is going on in Katsina, Kano, Sokoto, Adamawa, Plateau, Kogi, Benue, Ondo, Osun, Lagos, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Edo, Anambra, and Imo States as well as the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja”, Emmanuel added.
