Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, on Friday, May 31, 2019 said that he would drive his administration’s policies through religious bodies, saying that the religious bodies remain the key to his administration’s success.
Speaking at the special inauguration Jumat service organised by the Lagos State Secretariat Mosque for Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo- Olu, said he would collaborate with religious bodies in propagating his administration’s policies and programmes.
He told the clerics that they would assist his administration in appealing to Lagosians to cooperate with his policies, especially on refuse disposal and traffic issues, particularly driving against traffic.
The governor promised that waste disposal bags will be distributed free of charge to Churches and Mosque. According to him, he would consult and engage religious leaders in propagating policies and programmes because congregation believes their leaders and cleric. He said: “We believe if the religious bodies help informed the people, highlighting what and what not to do, the residents would listen and abide.”
The governor noted that the prayers are very symbolic to his team because it was held in the month of Ramadan and the last 10 days and Friday of the Ramadan, saying his team would not cease praying.
“So, we are grateful that we are part of it and the prayers for us and our families because it is divine. God will continue to answer our prayers because it is prayers that hold the key to success.”
