‘I told Peter Obi to withdraw from the presidential race’ – Arthur Eze Reveals Unpopular Position

Must read

Prince Arthur Eze, an Anambra-born business mogul, has revealed that he advised Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, to withdraw from the race.

The controversial businessman said that he warned Obi to withdraw from the race, but that Obi would not listen to him.

Eze, made this known while speaking at the occasion of the 2022 Ofala festival of Igwe Robert Eze on Saturday, December 24, 2022, the traditional ruler of Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government area of the southeastern state.

“I warned Peter Obi to withdraw from this race but he would not listen. I told him plainly that I am not part of his plans. I told him to drop his ambition, and wait for next time,” Prince Eze said.

“When he told me about his ambition, I asked him the states he thinks he can win in the west and in the north, he told me; but I was not convinced. I told him he cannot win; so that he would not waste his time and money.”

Present at the event was Governor Chukwuma Soludo, a vocal opponent of Mr Obi’s presidential ambition and it is possible that Arthur Eze made these remarks to impress the governor.

Prince Arthur Eze, in his speech, welcomed Soludo and said that Anambra is blessed to have him leading the state and promised his support to his administration.

Arthur Eze and Peter Obi met behind closed doors a few weeks ago. Their discussion had not been revealed till now.
