Ramon Abbas AKA Hushpuppi Jailed For 11 Years In The United States

Notorious Instagram influencer and celebrity, Ramon Abbas AKA Hushpuppi has been sentenced to 11 years imprisonment in the United States of America for fraud and money laundering. The US Central District Court in California on Friday, November 4, 2022, sentenced Hushpuppi to 11 years in jail.

Hushpuppi jailed for 11 years was initially arrested in June 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates over an extensive fraud scheme that had robbed victims of their money in the U.S, Qatar, United Kingdom, and other countries.

Consequently, Abbas was then extracted to the United States of America where he was charged with fraud and money laundering, multiple counts of hacking, impersonation, scamming, banking fraud, and identity theft.

He entered a guilty plea to the charges of conspiracy to engage in money laundering.

Following the 11 year jail sentence, Hushpuppi will now spend only nine years in prison due to the two years he has been remanded in custody through the trial period. With 2 years time served, he has 9 years left on his sentence.

Mr. Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi had appealed to Judge Otis Wright narrating his income sources, criminal adventure, and regrets on his life choices. During the appeal, he commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, for doing a thorough job in bringing him to justice and apologized to his family.
