Horror As Dead Body Is Found In Prince William And Kate’s Kensington Palace Lake

Must read

A woman’s body was found in an ornamental lake in front of Kensington Palace and police are accused of telling the wrong family that it was their loved one.

The grim discovery in the Round Pond, near the home of Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children, occurred on August 29 as police and paramedics were called to Kensington Gardens in west London.

Officers still haven’t confirmed the identity of the woman, who was pronounced dead after being retrieved from the water.

The family of artist Endellion Lycett Green, granddaughter of former poet laureate Sir John Betjeman, claim they were wrongly told the body was hers in a case of mistaken identity, it is reported.

Affectionately known as Delli to family, Ms Lycett Green, 51, had been missing for a week and Metropolitan Police had issued a public appeal for help, telling Twitter followers on August 31: “Police are still looking for Endellion Nagel also known as Endellion Lycett-Green.”

The force said she was known to visit Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and Green Park, and “has a strong interest in art so may frequent galleries in these areas”.

Her family was told that the body was hers, leaving them devastated, only for her to be found alive this week and the corpse to be that of someone else, the Daily Mail reported.

According to the newspaper, her brother John Lycett Green told friends: “My sister Endellion is alive, safe and well.

“Thank you all for the support and love you showed for Delli and her family.

“Sorry to all of you that, like us, were grieving for the wonder that is Delli.

“We were told a body was found and was her.

“It was not, and Delli was found last night.”

He added: “RIP the soul that was found in Kensington Round Pond on Saturday morning.”

Ms Lycett Green is said to be friends with Samantha Cameron, the wife of former Prime Minister David Cameron, and actor Dominic West, who starred in The Wire and The Affair.

She lives in Wiltshire with her husband and their two children, it is reported.

Met Police are still trying to identify the woman whose body was recovered from the pond, which is up to 16ft deep and was created was created by George II in 1730.
