The tragic incident took place around 6pm on Friday, May 22, 2015 when the slain victim ran into the knife wielding hoodlums said to be about five and all teenagers.

He reportedly handed the cell phone to them but pleaded with them to give him his sim cards, a demand which was said to have irked the hoodlums who immediately stabbed him to death.

Speaking to Leadership, an eyewitness who resides in Sango disclosed that the youths are notorious for forcefully collecting phones from passersby and have remained unpunished.

An uncle of the deceased, Mallam Mohammed Ndagi, who he was said to have visited in Minna to process admission to one of the tertiary institutions in Minna, confirmed the incident.

He said, “They have been terrorizing people. They take advantage of the students of the State College of Education, Minna. They will not do it to the people they know. My nephew just came from the village recently they did not know him; that is why they decided to attack him.”

Meanwhile, the matter has been reported to the Chanchaga police division and three of the boys known to his family were arrested.
