Not less than two mobile police officers were on Monday, May 9, 2016, gunned down in the oil city of Warri by suspected hoodlums.
The Trent learnt that the two officers blown up by the hoodlums were members of the Joint Military Task Force attached to the gate of Our Lady’s High School, along Airport Road, Warri.
Eye-witnesses say, the two murdered officers were in mufti and coming from one of the banks in the area when the hoodlums opened fire on them and allegedly made away with their money.
It was also learnt that one of the officer died on the spot and the one rushed to the Central Hospital Warri gave up the ghost in the hospital when doctors were battling to save his life.
When contacted for comments, Ms. Celestina Kalu, the state police public relations officer, did not pick her calls.
