Unidentified gunmen on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 killed two policemen guarding a Chinese mining firm at Magama Gumau village in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
THISDAY investigation revealed that the slain policemen who were stationed at the gate of the company, were attacked by the gunmen at about 5a.m.
Efforts to get the details of the attack from local officials in the area proved abortive.
The state Governor, Isa Yuguda, had earlier ordered an immediate closure of the mining firm because it was causing health hazards to the communities in local government area.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed, told journalists that he was yet to get details of the attack.
“I am yet to get details of the attack, but as soon as I do, I will let you know, please,” he said.
