Gunmen have struck again in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, abducting a popular night club owner, Tari Ajanami.
Ajanami, an indigene of Ayamasa town in Ekeremor Local Government Area, was said to have been abducted in the evening of Wednesday at his building project site along Otiotio road in the state capital.
Ajanami, 43, is the owner of the popular Club 64, along the Baybridge area of Yenagoa.
He is also said to be a staff of an old generation bank in Yenagoa.
It was learnt the victim was at his building site to pay workers when the gunmen whisked him away to an unknown destination.
While some eyewitnesses claimed the abduction might be connected to the lavish manner he celebrated his birthday recently, others argued he might have been kidnapped for ransom.
Asinim Butswat, the spokesman of Bayelsa Police Command, confirmed the abduction.
He stated: “On 28 July 2021 at about 2100 hours, three armed men kidnapped one Oyintari Ajanani, male, 43 years at Otiotio, Yenagoa.
“All operatives have been alerted and are on the trail of the suspects.”
