Kidnappers have abducted four students of Kaduna State College of Education, KSCOE, Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
They were reportedly abducted in Mile 1 area of Gidan Waya axis on Monday, May 16, 2022.
Benjamin Fie, spokesman of the Kaduna State Student Union, KADSSU, KSCOE Chapter, in a statement on Thursday, said the students were abducted on Monday evening at Mile 1.
Fie said the abductors are demanding a huge amount of money as ransom before they release them.
He mentioned their names as; Racheal Edwin, a 200 level student from the Biology/Geography Department; Esther Ishaya, 200 level student from the Economics and History Department; Promise Tanimu, 200 level student from English/History Department and Beauty Luka, a 300 level student from Spe/CRS Department
He said, ”it is with a bitter heart that the Kaduna State student union (KADSSU) of the prestigious Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya wishes to make it known to the college community and the public that four of their students were abducted.
He said their abductors are demanding huge sums as ransom, adding, “We want to use this medium to urge the college community and all the students to commit themselves, the school, and their parents to prayers.”
Mohammed Jalige, the Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, did not pick his calls to confirm the report.
