Governor Wike To Present N448 Billion 2021 Budget

The Rivers State government will soon present the 2021 Appropriation Bill of over four hundred and forty-eight billion naira to the State House of Assembly.

Isaac Kamalu, the state commissioner for finance, dropped the hint while briefing journalists on Monday, November 30, 2020, at the Government House Port Harcourt.

Kamalu who said the Rivers State Executive Council also approved the Medium Term Expenditure Framework for 2021-2023, added that the 2021 budget consideration is aimed at consolidating on the achievements of the current administration.

“Council considered the budgetary estimates for 2021. This was done taking into consideration the need to further facilitate the recovery following the ongoing economic depression and to consolidate on the myriad of development programmes that are in place across the state.

“The budget volume for the year 2021 budget estimate is N448, 660, 773, 476.

“This will help the Rivers State government accomplish all its ongoing projects and support and make life more meaningful for the people of the state,” he said.

The Rivers State Executive Council also approved the sum of two point seven billion naira to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC for the conduct of Local government Council elections next year.
