Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo staate has made some buses available to convey the indigenes of Imo state in Lagos and Oyo states respectively.
The free buses were provided in order to encourage the indigenes to travel for the Christmas celebrations without fear of expending huge amount of money on transportation fares.
The indigenes would be taken down to Owerri, the state’s capital on Wednesday, December 24, 2014.
The development was revealed by the Imo State Liaison Officer, Lagos State, Mr. Alfred Ononugbo, via a statement .
Onunugbo urged Imo State indigenes residing in Lagos who intended travelling home for Christmas celebration to assemble at National Stadium Surulere, Lagos on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 8 AM so they would embark on the free journey.
He also urged the indigenes in Oyo State to gather at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, Mokola, in Ibadan at 8AM on the aforementioned day.
Additionally, Onunugbo assured that security measures have been employed in all the communities in the state so as to ensure a hitch-free festive period.
He also promised that the journey to their state would be a memorable one as they would see and feel the dividends of democracy being provided by the present administration.
