Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state on Sunday, June 14, 2020 met with the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike at the government house in Port Harcourt.
Wike hosted Obaseki following his disqualification from the gubernatorial race of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the primaries where Osagie Ize-Iyamu emerged the parties flag bearer. Obaseki’s disqualification came after a long period of a face-off with his predecessor and APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomole.
Former vice president and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar extended a hand of fellowship to Obaseki to run for re-election on the platform of PDP.
Details from his meeting with Wike has not yet been disclosed.
