Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara has expressed dissatisfaction over the violent activities happening in the state.
Addressing journalists at the state Government House in Gusaua, the Governor said he was short of words over the bandits’ activities in the state.
“My administration has tried to curtail the problem but it still persists and I do not know where the problem is coming from.”
He said his administration has invested much to ensure the security of lives and properties in the state, all to no avail.
He said he would embark on a fire for fire operation against the bandits since they do not want to repent, saying he had instructed the security operatives to engage them.
Recall that the state Commissioner of Police recently told journalists that he was not in the state to plead with the bandits, pointing out that it would be a fire for fire operation.
He, however, appealed to the general public to as a matter of fact give the police in the state and other security operatives the needed useful information to deal with the criminals.
The new commissioner had sent warned the armed bandits that he would waste their lives if they refuse to take the path of peace as the state Government has initiated.
He enjoined the general public to remain calm, assuring that peace would soon be restored in the state.
