Governor Kwankwaso Appoints Patricia Mahmoud As Acting female Chief Judge Of Kano

Justice Patricia Mahmoud, from Idoma in Benue State, was sworn in by the Kano State gov­ernor, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on Friday, January 10, 2015 at the government house as the acting Chief Judge of the state.

Mahmoud who is married to Barrister Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud (SAN) , an in­digene of Kano State replaces the former Chief Judge, Justice Shehu Abubakar, who will officially retire from the judicial service on January 10, 2015.

Before her current appointment, Mahmoud has served in various public offices such as Kano state Civil service and the state Ministry of Justice from where she rose to her pre­sent position.

She is also an active partner in the Association of Women Judges in Nigeria and abroad.
