Son of Plateau state governor, Yakubu Jang, has filed a lawsuit asking the court to stop the state’s House of Assembly from carrying out any investigation on his father, governor Jonah Jang.
Following recent happenings in Plateau, the state house of assembly had set up a nine-member committee to start investigation on governor Jonah Jang over alleged mismanaged state funds.
A 10-page petition which was sent in by the Plateau Patriotic Forum accused the governor of collecting loans from banks without proper consent from the House of Assembly, as well as mismanaging the disbursement of N50 billion SURE-P funds in the state.
Responding to the charges leveled against him, Jang during a recent public event said “If I see such an amount, the state will not remain this way.”
However, Musa Gondina, chairman of the committee set to probe the governor, has disclosed that the suit would not deter the committee from carrying out its work since the committee is yet to receive any notice from the court to stop the investigation.
Meanwhile, A date for the hearing has not been fixed by the court.
