The was mild drama in Plateau State on Friday, May 29, 2015 as outgoing governor Jonah Jang was absent as former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Simon Lalong was sworn in as Governor.
Deputy Governor, Ignitus Longjan stood in for Jang, reminding many of the events of 2007, when Jang was sworn in by the then Deputy Governor Michael Botmang.
The awkwardness of the ceremony did not end there as members of the State House of Assembly were left hanging in a coaster bus which brought them to the venue.
The reason given was that they arrived the venue after the governor-elect was already seated and as such, they were neither given seats or even recognised in the order of events.
