Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue State during an inauguration thanksgiving service held in his honour on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Redeemed Christian Church, Mega Parish in Makurdi, disclosed that he will never tolerate womansing, drinking or wild parties in the government.
He mentioned that although the ex-governor Gabriel Suswam stated that he left behind a N9.3 billion debt, he will still check the handover notes because the figure did not reflect the arrears of salaries, allowances, retirement benefits, as well as commitments to contractors and other obligations.
The Governor vowed that the security of lives and property had to be given top priority attention in order for his administration to fulfill its promise to provide a conducive environment for the private sector to drive the economy of the state as has become the global practice.
