The Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 declared that all the female hostages shown in a video released by Boko Haram on Monday, May 12, 2014 are students of Government Secondary school, Chibokwho were abducted by the Islamist extremist sect on April 14, 2014.
Earlier on Tuesday, parents of the school students and community leaders had said that they were unable to identify the girls in the video.
Speaking on Tuesday, Shettima said: “All the girls in that video were identified to be students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok.”
The governor had organised a viewing of the video for the Chibok community.
