Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano State, has on Friday, October 25, 2019, instituted a panel to probe the kidnap of nine children from the State, Punch reports.
The children were later found in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The Commission of Inquiry headed by Wada Umar Rano, a retired justice has been mandated to provide complete data of other missing children in Kano State.
“The Commission is to conduct an inquiry into cases of missing persons in Kano State from 2010 to date and to procure all such evidences, written or oral, and to examine all such persons, as witnesses, as the commission may deem it necessary or desirable to procure or examine.”
The terms of reference, paved way for the Commission, “To summon any person in Nigeria to attend any meeting of the commissioners, to give evidence or produce any document or other things in his possession and to require the evidence (whether written or oral) of any witness to be made on oath or declaration, such oath or declaration.”
