Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described himself as an elephant, saying he can not be taken by surprise from the G-5 governors of the PDP.
Atiku said that anyone that plans to stop him from achieving his political ambition, should first make himself the president of Nigeria.
The former vice president equally noted that he was not perturbed by plots of five aggrieved governors, popularly known as G-5 governors, to endorse presidential candidates of their choice.
He stated that he is an elephant that has seen everything, noting that he cannot be taken by surprised by the aggrieved governors.
Atiku, who spoke on Friday, December 30, 2022, through his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, said any person boasting of having such powers to stop his presidential bid, should first make himself president.
His words: “Atiku will be president. Whether the cock crows or not, the sun must rise. Power belongs to God Almighty; no man can arrogate to himself the powers of God Almighty. Any man who can boast of stopping Atiku should first make himself president of Nigeria.
“Atiku is an elephant. Even when an elephant walks on thorns, it does not limp. And when you have seen a snake, it cannot bite you anymore. In this case, we have seen the snake, how can we be taken by surprise?”
Atiku Okowa Presidential Campaign Office Sealed Off In Rivers
The Rivers State campaign office of Atiku Abubakar the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been sealed off.
The Rivers State PDP presidential campaign council said the action was based on the orders of the Rivers State government.
The office which is located in GRA Port Harcourt was sealed off in the early hours of Friday.
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike had a few weeks ago signed Executive Order 22 which prohibits the citing of campaign offices by political parties in residential areas without government approval.
But the media team of the PDP PCC, Rivers State, said it had applied for approval from the state government but has not received any feedback for several weeks.
The group, therefore, condemned the “act because it rubs off on our fundamental right to free expression of interest.”
It also said: “This egregious move by the Rivers State Government, seen in the prism of politics, tends to militarise our democracy and renders our dear state politically recessive when juxtaposed with other states in the country.”
2023: Atiku Promises To Tackle Insecurity In South East
Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said he will engage the people of South East in dialogue to end insecurity in the area.
Atiku spoke, on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at a campaign rally of the party in Owerri, Imo State.
The erstwhile vice president stated that though there are security challenges all over the country, he was ready to seek ways to employ dialogue to arrest it in South East.
He noted that the Igbo are business people whose business ventures need to thrive in a secure environment.
Atiku stated that the people of South East will not regret voting for him.
He submitted that his administration will invest 10 billion dollars in empowering young men and women in businesses.
According to him, no one will have any reason to be idea under his administration.
“I know we have security challenges all over the country, let me tell you, when you elect me, I will come here, sit down with you, discuss with you, what is the problem, together, we will work out a settlement”, he stated.
