NAN – Mrs Susan Ajenge, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), FCT Command, has commended road users in the territory for maintaining safety during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Ajenge also lauded them for their conduct after the restriction of movement order imposed for the polls.

She made the commendation on Monday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

According to her, the FCT road users cooperated with the commission during and after the elections as there were no arrests or accidents during the period.

“Throughout the election period no single case of accident was recorded in the FCT, even after the restriction of movement between 8 a.m. and 5p.m. on that day.

“Also, no single arrest was made during the period as there was no reported case of traffic violation in the territory.

“I think this is commendable. I score FCT road users 90 per cent in the way and manner they conducted themselves during and after the election period,” the sector commander said.

NAN recalls the FRSC alongside other security agencies were on ground at many polling units and other strategic places to ensure peaceful conduct of the elections.

The corps deployed over 20, 000 personnel nationwide, out which 3,510 covered the  elections.
