Zamfara State Governor, AbdulAziz Yari on Friday, May 29, 2015 promised people of the state that his administration would build an international airport in the state before 2016.
Governor Yari – who is returning to office for a second term – made the pledge at his inauguration ceremony , adding that he would build 500 housing units in the 14 local government areas of the state.
He said: “Our intending pilgrims will be airlifted from the newly constructed airport to the holy land come year 2016 Insha Allah.
“Our women will also be empowered as we promised during our campaigns and women as important stakeholders in the family institutions should be engaged economically to give them sense of belonging and help build up a morally up right society.”
