Former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, and his two sons; Aminu and Mustapha have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over N1.3 billion fraud.
Reports in Premium Times stated that the arrest was confirmed by EFCC’s spokesperson Wilson Uwujaren.
The former governor surrendered himself to the EFCC upon expiration of his tenure as governor.
Lamido’s sons had earlier been arrested in Kano and flown to Abuja in November 2013 while their father enjoyed immunity as the Jigawa State governor.
They are accused of siphoning Jigawa State funds.
A source at the commission said that the Lamidos have been moved to Kano state where they would arraigned before a court on Wednesday, July 8 or Thursday, July 9, 2015.
