The young man identified as Oladele Nihi, who decided to trek from the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has finally arrived his destination at the homestead of President Goodluck Jonathan in Otuoke, Bayelsa State on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the company of two other ladies, Gloria and Ifey Chukuneku who joined him up halfway into the journey.
Nihi said he decided to embark on the journey on Monday, May 4, 2015 in order to honour the president as the hero of democracy following his statesmanship display at the just concluded general elections.
It would be recalled that President Jonathan called his major opponent, General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to congratulate him moments before the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC announced the final results.
This singular act has earned the president several accolades from within and outside Nigeria.
The trio, now dubbed #GEJ Trekkers proceeded to President Jonathan’s home church for a thanksgiving service on Sunday, May 24, 2015.
Below are some photos from the event.
