FIFA’s Executive Committee has confirmed that the organisation’s presidential elections initially slated for February 26, 2016 will go on as planned.
There have been calls for the elections to be brought forward or suspected as a result of the provisional 90-day suspension of incumbent president, Sepp Blatter and secretary general, Jerome Valcke.
The confirmation comes after an extraordinary meeting of the FIFA executive committee on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
It has also been confirmed that the federation’s code of ethics will be amended in order to aid transparency as regards FIFA’s activities.
