The Federal Government has on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 issued a directive that all land borders be closed from midnight of Thursday, April 9, 2015 through the midnight of Sunday, April 12, 2015.
This as learnt, is to ensure that the governorship elections across different states of the federation is conducted without hitches.
The polls scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2015 comes up exactly two weeks after the presidential elections that saw General Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s President-elect after he defeated incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan.
