Contrary to reports that 5 new cases of the Ebola virus have been confirmed in Lagos, the minister of health, Onyebuchi Chukwu has claimed the reports were let out to the press on wrong authority.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Health Dr. Jide Idris told reporters that five new suspected cases of Ebola have been recorded in the state.
Speaking through his special assistant on media and communication, Dan Nwomeh on Twitter, the Onyebuchi reiterated that his office remains the only true and authentic source of information concerning the outbreak of the deadly virus.
In the tweets on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, Nwomeh explained that so far, no new case had been confirmed.
Minister of Health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu restates that at present, today, now, Nigeria has only two confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease.
