ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) FCT Command has initiated a full-scale manhunt for the suspects involved in the theft of an official vehicle belonging to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in Abuja.
The theft occurred on Friday, April 11, 2025, around 1:05 p.m., when an official of ONSA, who had parked a black Toyota Hilux at Area 10, opposite the AMAC (Abuja Municipal Area Council), went to observe Juma’at prayers at a nearby mosque.
Upon returning, the official discovered that the vehicle, which was parked in a relatively busy area, had been stolen by unknown individuals.
Sources close to the incident revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen to the Garki Division by 2:00 p.m.
As a result, the NPF FCT Command immediately activated a stop-and-search operation at all entry and exit points within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The authorities have intensified efforts to locate the vehicle and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
The stolen Toyota Hilux, an important asset for the ONSA, is now at the centre of a police investigation, with security agencies working around the clock to retrieve it.
The police have confirmed that they are following various leads in connection with the theft.
They have also assured that every resource will be utilized to ensure that the perpetrators are caught and brought to justice.
The incident has raised concerns over the security of vehicles belonging to government agencies in the city, prompting calls for increased vigilance and preventive measures.
While investigations are ongoing, the police have asked the public to report any suspicious activities or sightings that may assist in recovering the stolen vehicle.
