FCT Minister Wike Requests Removal of Congratulatory Billboards

ABUJA, Nigeria – Nyesom Wike, the newly appointed Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has urged well-wishers to stop putting up congratulatory billboards and advertisements in his honour.

The request was made public in a statement released on Sunday, August 27, 2023, by the Director of Press, Office of the Minister, Mr. Anthony Ogunleye.

Ogunleye says, “The minister deeply appreciates the warm wishes and support from FCT residents and citizens at large. However, he requests that such billboards and advertisements be discontinued forthwith.”

Ogunleye elaborated that while Minister Wike acknowledges the overwhelming goodwill from the residents of the FCT and beyond, he prefers to direct his full attention towards aiding President Bola Tinubu in fulfilling his vision for Nigeria.

The minister’s primary focus, Ogunleye said, is contributing to the development and well-being of the FCT and the nation at large.
