Mr. Odia Abraham, father of Master Omonigho Abraham, the four-year-old boy who sustained extensive injuries following attack by two German Shepherd dogs belonging to their landlord in Igando area of Lagos State, discharged his son from the hospital against medical advice.
This was disclosed by the Lagos state commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, on Monday, December 1, 2014 during a review of reports of the specialists that attended to Omonigho at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

He said Mr Omonigho took a dangerous decision by withdrawing his son from the plastic surgery specialists in LASUTH on Tuesday, November 28, 2014.
Medical officials maintained that the healthy granulation tissue growing on his son’s skull must not be interrupted, an advise which Omonigho paid deaf ears and signed the necessary papers.
According to Idris, the medical team at LASUTH alerted the Lagos State Government, Governor Babatunde Fashola, precisely to Omonigho’s case, who was initially rushed to the Igando General Hospital, where he was stabilized by the medical team at the Accidents and Emergency ward of the hospital before being referred to LASUTH.
