Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister For Aviation and the Director of Media and Publicity for the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, on Sunday, June 7, 2015 urged the Peoples Democratic Party members in the House of Representatives to to vote for Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House.
On Saturday, June 6 2015 Gbajabiamila who represents Surulere 1 state constituency, emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the 8th National Assembly.
He garnered 154 votes as against 182 votes casted to beat Yakubu Dogara in a primary election conducted by the APC in Abuja on Saturday, June 6, 2015.
