Dr. Charles Stanley, a renowned pastor in Atlanta, once shared an incredible experience of faith in action from his ministry. At the time, his church urgently needed a new, larger facility, but it faced a significant obstacle—it needed two million dollars, which it didn’t have.
The church board suggested a loan to secure the new building, believing it was a solid deal. However, Dr. Stanley urged them to seek divine guidance before making any decisions. He proposed a weekend retreat at a state park where they could pray together and seek God’s will. They spent the entire weekend earnestly praying, but when they returned, they still had no clear answer about how to proceed.
Determined to trust God’s timing, they continued waiting for His guidance. Not long after, Dr. Stanley received a message asking him to contact a man he had never met, who lived in another state. Curious, he made the call. The stranger explained that he had been thinking about Dr. Stanley’s ministry for several days and admired that they never asked for financial support on their broadcast. He then asked if the ministry had any needs.
Dr. Stanley explained their situation and the need for two million dollars to purchase the new facility. The man responded, “I think I can help with that,” and donated the full amount—two million dollars.
The church faced a seemingly insurmountable problem, but it chose to believe in Jesus. In the end, its prayers were answered, and its problem was miraculously solved.
