The face-off between the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and the Department of State of Security has dragged into Friday July 17, 2015 the second day running.
Men of the State Security Service, DSS, maintained their siege on the property at John Kadiya Street in Asokoro District of Abuja.
Premium Times reports that four trucks with fully armed DSS operatives stormed Dasuki’s residence Thursday and requested to “see” Dasuki.
Mr. Dasuki reportedly refused to let them in, reportedly, after it became clear to him that they were on a mission to arrest him. It was gathered that the DSS operatives eventually gained access into the house and evacuated all the vehicles inside the compound.
A source said the operatives “took away all the cars in the house including that of his wife, his worker and visitors away after which they drove their own vehicles inside”.
Another source, involved in the arrest of Mr.Dasuki, said that the DSS “moved in” because Mr. Dasuki was resisting arrest. The source added Mr. Dasuki requested to know his offence to warrant being arrested. He also said some of the operatives had returned to the DSS office to brief their superiors, “for the next line of action”.
He however said the DSS were still keeping guard at the House to “ensure that nobody exits and nobody goes into the compound”.
Our source said, the operatives were also making photocopies of the documents of the vehicles they took away after which they would return to the house.
