An extremely jealous woman with a rare medical condition has banned her husband from watching the television in order to stop him from seeing women.
43-year-old Debbi Wood has been diagnosed with Othello Syndrome, a condition which causes morbid jealousy of the victim’s partner.
Wood has banned her 32-year-old husband Steve, from watching the television because it displayed a woman shaving her legs in an advert.
The couple met sometime in 2011 and finally tied the knots only last year November.
According to Metro UK, Wood, from Leicester, Checks her partner’s phone, email accounts and bank statements to check he isn’t playing away.
Her jealousy even got to the point that she passes her husband through lie detector tests anytime she feels he is telling lies.
Speaking on her extreme jealous condition, Wood said, ‘All woman have an inner beauty, but for a man it goes beyond that…lusting after a woman mentally. Mentally having some sort of intimate fantasy about them as opposed to actually just admiring that person’s beauty.’
She added, ‘I have a small frame, this small frame is carrying extra weight instead of what it normally should do.
‘It’s gonna help physically, I feel like my bones are crushing on the inside, I have back and knee problems, but mentally it’s gonna give me a bit more confidence with myself.
‘I’m having the therapy I need, but having a gastric band is going to help me physically do things, to help me go out with my husband, to make me feel confident and get my life back.’
Her husband who believes that his wife’s psychological problem would be resolved once the physical is treated said, ‘If we tackle physical first, then the mental problem will go down.’
Steve is now faced with the responsibility of taking care of his wife as they hope to undergo a gastric band surgery to correct the issue.
