The market session was in progress about the time that was supposed to be used in cleaning the environment and the chairman tries to enforce sanity into the people, ordering them to close every activities at once, an appeal the market women rebuffed.

This prompted the local government council, Hon. Shola Piri,  chairman to call for law enforcement agents who invaded the market and started shooting sporadically and eventually killing two people including 14-year-old boy who happens to be the only son of his parent.

The death of these two victims prompted the community youth to go out on rampage, razing down a police station and killing about three other persons.

Soldiers were however called in to quell the mayhem which lasted for about six hours.
