Chelsea striker, Diego Costa will miss his club’s next three domestic matches after the English FA banned him for violent conduct.
Costa was seen on camera putting his hand on Koscielny’s face and clashing with Gabriel Paulista afterwards. Gabriel was given a straight red card by referee, Mike Dean but Costa managed to stay on the pitch.
The FA has now overturned Gabriel’s red card but instead has slammed the bullish Chelsea striker with a ban after supplying video footage to a panel of three former elite referees who ruled that Costa was meant to be sent off.
Costa will now miss Chelsea’s League Cup match at Walsall on Wednesday and subsequent Premier League matches against Newcastle and Southampton.
