The Nigerian media had in the early hours of Wednesday, September 30, 2015 circulated reports that President Muhammadu Buhari had sent the list of ministerial nominees to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki which would be announced on the floor of the Senate.

With the hashtag #TheList already a trending topic on Twitter, Nigerians were eagerly waiting for the announcement of the country’s new potential cabinet members by the end of the day.

But that was not to be as at the end of plenary, there was no announcement of any list from Saraki, prompting the Senate Minority leader, Godswill Akpabio to raise questions, which was not satisfactorily answered by the Senate President.

It would be recalled that President Buhai had on Monday, September 7, 2015 while on an official trip to Ghana announced that he will make his ministerial nominees known before the end of September, which is 4 months after he assumed office.

Meanwhile, Nigeria can be content with the fact that they have at least one minister which is the Minister of Petroleum Resources in the person of General Muhammadu Buhari.
