A former Minister of Federal Capital Territory and Deputy National Secretary of All Progressives Congress, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, in Kaduna gave the the ruling Peoples Democratic Party 11 months notice to quit Aso Villa.
El-Rufai said this in Kaduna on Sunday, March 23, 2014 during the state APC stakeholders’ meeting preparatory to the party’s forthcoming congress.
According to him, the APC is a government in the waiting, noting that, “even those (people) in power now know that, they have 11 months notice to pack their bags, because we are taking over.”
The former FCT Minister, who is said to be eyeing the governorship seat of Kaduna State, however, said it was premature to talk on his governorship ambition.
He said that at the appropriate time, party members in the state would elect their candidates for respective offices.
“My priority as the Deputy National Secretary is to ensure that the APC is a very strong party in Kaduna State and other parts of the country. And the question of contesting for office will be determined by the party at the appropriate time,” he said.
Also speaking at the occasion, Senator Sani Saleh, an APC senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, said there was no crisis in the state APC as being speculated, saying that the little challenges the party had bordered on implementation of national guidelines.
