Following the recent spate of violence attacks in Ekiti State, ranging from numerous kidnap cases to the more recent violence between Yoruba and Hausas, Governor Ayo Fayose has declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Ado-Ekiti, capital of the state.
Speaking when he visited the Hausa community at Atikankan area of Ado Ekiti on Thursday, May 21, 2015, Governor Fayose said the curfew would take effect from 6m, ordering security agents to apprehend anyone seen roaming the streets after the stipulated time.
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Etop James promised to restore normalcy to the state.
