Residents of Ekiti State have stormed the streets in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 14, 2015 shortly after the Supreme Court upheld the election of Governor Ayo Fayose for the governorship seat.
After losing the 2014 governorship election in the state, Fayose’s opponent of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, filed a suit against him in court challenging his eligibility to contest for the election.
The court ruled the case in favour of Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and by virtue of this victory, he is expected to retain the seat as the governor of the state .
The overly elated residents celebrated in Ado Ekiti, the state capital with a variety of musical instruments to add spice to the event.
